...Sing Us A Song...

borrowing an idea from the MullMaiden, I decided to put together this soundtrack thing...this was not random, if you were wondering. You will notice, I am sure, that there are no Dylan songs, no Sister Hazel, no Collective Soul....well, that's because I'm going to do it again later with those artists. but for now...

Opening Credits: "These Days" ~ Rascal Flatts

"Go to Bed, Dream of you.
that's what I'm doing these days"

Average Day: "Ordinary Day" ~ Great Big Sea

"it's just an ordinary day,
and it's all your state of mind..."

Love Scene: "Cruisin" ~ Smokey Robinson

"music is played for love
cruisin' is made for love..."

Breaking Up: "Stationary Stationary" ~ Anberlin

"does he treat you like you want?
does he ask to take your hand?"

Long Night Alone: "Here Without You" ~ 3 Doors Down

"I'm here without you, baby.
but you're still with me in my dreams..."

Getting Back Together: "A Day Late" ~ Anberlin

"what made you hesitate to tell me
with words what you really feel?"

Life’s Okay: "Sweet Southern Comfort" ~ Buddy Jewell

"With rusty cars and weeping willows
Keepin watch out in the yard.
Just a snapshot of downhome Dixie,
Could be anywhere you are..."

Driving: "The Open Road" ~ the Gibson Brothers

"there's a hundred-million miles of blacktop
Humming out the sweetest sound"

Learning a Lesson: "Last Train Home" ~ Lostprophets

"but there's still tomorrow, forget the sorrow
and I can be on the last train home"

Happy Dance: "Beautiful Day" ~ U2

"after the flood all the colors came out,
and it was a beautiful day"

Regretting: "The Overgrown Waltz" ~ Bela Fleck

this is an instrumental, but it's as sad as anything out there
to me, it speaks of things long gone

Death Scene: "Some Day" ~ Blue Highway

"and when my body is in the grave,
don't think that I'll be there.
I won't be dead, but living
in the place Jesus went to prepare"

Closing Credits: "Don't Let Me Come Home A Stranger" ~ Robin and Linda Williams

"Will there come a time when the memories fade
And pass on with the long, long years?
When the ties no longer bind?
Lord save me from this darkest fear.
Don't Let Me Come Home A Stranger,
I couldn't stand to be a stranger."

Good Day...

MullMaiden eh? I like it.

I also like your choices, particularly for your long night alone and your happy dance. I've never heard the Bela Fleck piece, but I've no doubt it's high quality.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with for CS, Sister Hazel and even Dylan. :)

Yes, Cass....THE songwriter :) tell me, did you hear HIM doing his songs, or someone else?

Mully (like Sully, y'know?), get Eric to play you the Bela Fleck one...it's amazing.

and that other one will show up soon...i just don't know how soon :)
